At the December meeting of the Hendry-LaBelle Recreation Board, the following individuals were recognized for their support with the Veterans Park “Facelift” Project. Pictured in the front from left to right: Daniel Akins, Darrell Harris and David Lyons, recreation board members. In back; Ramiro Rodriguez, Director of the Hendry-LaBelle Recreation Board, was recognized for his tireless work on the project. Nikki Yeager was Ramiro’s right hand assistant in this endeavor. Clyde Lavender representing ADUDA Sod donated 35 pallets of sod for the park. KC Lynn’s family donated a 1934 historical bell her husband rescued from the William S Mitchell. Gary Knipe with Keepsake Plants donated 250 plants to the park. Juan Montes Jr’s company, C&A Tranzports, LLC, supplied the manpower and equipment in re-sodding the Veterans Park and donating and installing the new irrigation system. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this major “facelift” project. Please take time to enjoy the LaBelle Veterans Park at SR80 and Main Street, across from the courthouse.
