Head on collision kills Okeechobee man

OKEECHOBEE -- A 45-year-old Okeechobee man was killed in a head on collision early Monday morning.

On Jan. 17 at approximately 7:15 a.m., a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old Sebring man was traveling southeast on U.S. 98. An SUV driven by the Okeechobee man was traveling northwest when for unknown reasons, the pickup truck traveled into the lane of the SUV resulting in a head on collision. 

The Okeechobee man was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Sebring man was transported to Raulerson Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
