14-year-old Immokalee boy killed in ATV accident

HENDRY COUNTY -- A 14-year-old Immokalee boy was killed and a 13-year-old Immokalee boy injured in an all terrain vehicle accident on Sept. 19, just after 10 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol Report. Two other passengers were not injured.

The FHP report lists the driver as a 13-year-old Immokalee boy. Passengers were a 14-year-old Immokalee boy, a 16-year-old Immokalee boy and a 15-year-old Immokalee boy.

According to the FHP report, The ATV was traveling east on Neely Davis Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and lost control. The ATV overturned and came to rest on Neely Davis Road. The 14-year-old passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 13-year-old driver was transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center. The other two passengers were not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
