Alma went peacefully home to meet Jesus on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born October 10, 1933 in Fort Pierce, Florida to James Everett Cone, Sr. and Minnie Ruth Grant Cone. In the early 1940s, the Cone family moved to Okeechobee. June graduated from Okeechobee High School in 1951 and married Dozier Clements on October 26, 1951.
June was an active lifetime member of the First Baptist Church and participated in various ministries. She loved to worship the Lord through music and song. For many years she faithfully served as pianist for the Treasure Island Baptist Church, 441 Baptist Mission Church, Primera Iglesia Bautista and the Lions Club. She worked as a bookkeeper at Okeechobee Hardware Store and alongside Dozier at Hunt Brothers Grocery. She brightened the lives of many during her years as a SunTrust bank teller from which she retired. Family and friends will lovingly cherish their memories of her.
June was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dozier Clements; son, Charles Clements; parents, Everett and Ruth Cone; sister, Evelyn Holt; brother, Jim “Bubba” Cone; and brother-in-law, John Holt.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Flores (Ron), of Galt, California and Janet Parrish (Stan), of Radford, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Marlene Clements, of Okeechobee, Florida; brother, Wayne Cone (Gail), of Cornelia, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Michael Gates (Gina), Kimberly Grimsley (Derek), Nicholas Clements (Jessica), Connor Clements (fiancé, Michaela Myers); Jordan Parrish, Natalie Parrish, and Grace Burdack (Blake); nine great grandchildren, Caroline Gates, Madeline Gates, Megan Grimsley, Ethan Grimsley, Elizabeth Grimsley, Tyson Grimsley, Nora Grimsley, Brylee Clements, and Kayden Clements; sister-in-law, Barbara Cone, of Blairsville, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family extends a very special thank you to Karen Coffey for the love and care she gave to “Miss June” at the end of her life.
