BCB Homes completes structure of house for Immokalee Foundation Project

Posted

IMMOKALEE — BCB Homes has completed the structure of the first house in an 18-unit subdivision — part of The Immokalee Foundation’s Career Pathways Learning Lab Project.

Thanks to The Wasie Foundation, The Ray Foundation, Collier Enterprises, and Dale & Barbara Morrison as well as many community partners, the Naples-based builder, along with students from The Immokalee Foundation and Immokalee Technical College, broke ground on this site in October.

The Immokalee Foundation approached BCB Homes’ Eric Morris (Vice President and Operations Manager) and Greg Brisson (President) back in 2019, with regards to training programs for aspiring construction managers and engineers. This ultimately led to the housing subdivision curriculum for the Career Pathways Learning Lab Project, whereby students can obtain hands-on experience that will evolve into careers with BCB Homes and others like them in the Southwest Florida marketplace.

“We’re teaching young men and women all about our industry — from administration to planning and building as well as community sales,” Brisson said. “It’s a slow and steady process, and it’s worth every minute, because The Immokalee Foundation has given us an unbelievable opportunity to do what we love for the benefit of the community as a whole.

They offer career-driven education in a wide variety of in-demand fields. To represent ours and help others find success in that field is just as much of a dream come true as building a home.”

BCB Homes and its subcontractors are waiving all profit margins for this project, which is slated for completion in 2026, as some elements of the project have been pushed back due to COVID-19.
