Bicyclist dies in crash on SR 29

IMMOKALEE – A 64-year-old Immokalee man died in a traffic accident on Nov. 19, at 5:53 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol Report, a van driven by a 29-year-old Immokalee man and a pickup truck driven by an unknown person were traveling north on State Road 29, with the van in front of the pickup. 
A 64-year-old bicyclist from Immokalee crossed the travel lanes of State Road 29 in front of the approaching van. The front of the van collided with the bicyclist. The pickup truck then ran over the bicyclist. The van driver stopped and remained on scene. The pickup truck driver failed to stop and left the scene. The truck may be a red newer model Dodge Ran.
