NAPLES — The Community Foundation of Collier County (CFCC) awarded $7,151,231 in grants in the first quarter of the 2021-22 fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2021, to nonprofit agencies and scholarships for secondary education and specialized training. Included in this amount is $1,818,258 in CFCC Donor-Advised Fund grants.

The Community Foundation ended its 2020-21 fiscal year on June 30, 2021, with a total of $33.5 million in grants. CFCC has distributed over $216 million in grants and scholarships in its 36-year history.

$774,155 of the first quarter grants were from the Your passion. Your Collier. Fund (YPYC). This $15.5 million initiative directly results from the 2017 Community Needs Assessment addressing needs in mental health and substance abuse, housing and hunger, education and employment, seniors and veterans, environment and accessibility, and crisis and disaster relief.

The organizations receiving YPYC grants in the first quarter are Lorenzo Walker Technical College, Immokalee Technical College (iTech) Center for Manufacturing Excellence, and Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce to expand course offerings for machining technologies and electronic and communications technologies education programs, Naples Botanical Garden for the Collier Trees Project, and Champions For Learning for Future Ready Collier.

“Studies are pointless unless we follow them up with action,” said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, Community Foundation President & CEO. “At the Community Foundation, we pride ourselves on community knowledge and partnerships that enable us to identify and respond to critical community needs and, in turn, guide our donors in their charitable giving to make the most impact.”
