NAPLES — On February 19, 2023, at 1:58 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 75, at mile marker 102. The trooper, driving a 2021 Florida Highway Patrol Dodge Charger, was stopped on the north paved shoulder, with emergency lights activated. An unknown, dark in color sedan, entered the paved shoulder and collided with the trooper’s driver side door. The trooper sustained minor injuries.

Post collision, the unknown, dark in color sedan continued traveling north on Interstate 75.

The crash remains under criminal investigation. Anyone with information regarding the dark in color sedan is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimestoppers.
