What began as an online inquiry resulted in a gift guaranteed to change the lives and living conditions of Immokalee Foundation students in the real world.

Located in the Port Royal Community of Naples, Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church has a robust history of giving to worthy causes throughout Southwest Florida. Once original introductions were made, the “Women of Trinity” subsequently made the 45-mile drive to Immokalee, FL, to learn how to best serve the students of The Immokalee Foundation.

“It was truly an honor to take the Women of Trinity on a tour of Immokalee and personally share more about the impact the Foundation makes in the lives of our students,” said Noemi Y. Perez, President and CEO of The Immokalee Foundation. “We are so grateful for their generous support and look forward to making an even greater impact together.”

For more than 30 years, The Immokalee Foundation has been preparing the next generation of leaders through a 100% focus on education, career readiness, and professional development for students in Immokalee—from kindergarten to postsecondary education.

After the initial tour, the Women of Trinity focused on the housing needs of the Foundation’s postsecondary population.

Despite scholarships for tuition, housing insecurity can be a significant issue for Foundation students attending college. Trinity’s $25,000 gift has been earmarked to address the housing needs of The Immokalee Foundation’s impressive roster of postsecondary students attending colleges and universities within the State of Florida and nationwide.

“Service to others is core to our ministry,” observed Trinity’s Reverend Edward C. Gleason. “Supporting The Immokalee Foundation and their work in providing education, empowerment and hope for Immokalee’s youth is a natural fit for our church’s mission and our goal of helping others live life in harmony with God and community.”
