“He is a very humble and down-to-earth man,” said Marisa Franco as she described her friend, boss, and owner of Town Pharmacy on Main Street in Immokalee. Last week Franco and her co-workers were sent on a mission to purchase $700 worth of blankets and deliver them to homeless individuals in Immokalee and that’s exactly what they did. After making the trip to the store to purchase the blankets, Franco and her co-workers packed the blankets into a vehicle and made their way around town looking for those who needed them most. Franco said that they were also given instructions not to place any marketing information on the blankets as he truly wanted them to be a gift for the community. Don Huber, a pharmacist at Town Pharmacy, described his boss as caring and understanding of those in the community who struggle every day. Huber said that Chaudhari came from very humble beginnings as he grew up poor and knew what it was like to go without. Huber said that although Chaudhari moved to Florida from New Jersey just a few years ago, the tradition of giving out blankets and other items around this time of year has been an annual tradition for Chaudhari for several years. Chaudhari did not want to be interviewed for this story, but his employees feel that he is truly a caring individual and that he should be recognized for his big heart.
