More charges filed against former Collier teacher/coach

COLLIER COUNTY- On Friday, April 23, 2021, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported more charges filed against former Collier County Public Schools teacher Travis Westberry.

“Further investigation by detectives identified two additional minor victims. On Thursday, prosecutors charged Westberry with one felony count of aggravated stalking of a child under 16 and three misdemeanor counts of battery," the CCSO reported. 

The Collier County School District terminated Westberry’s employment, following his March 23 arrest.

Westbury remains in the Naples Jail Center on $225,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.

On March 24, 2021  the Collier County Sheriff’s Office released the following information about the Westberry case:

“Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Collier County Public Schools teacher Tuesday, March 23, on a felony charge connected with inappropriate relationships he had with two juvenile victims.

"Travis Westberry, 30, of  Summit Place Circle, Naples, is charged with transmission of material harmful to minors to a minor by electronic device or equipment.

"He is a teacher and boys varsity basketball coach at Immokalee High School.

"The investigation began Tuesday after the victims disclosed information about Westberry to a CCPS staff member. An investigation continues."
