COLLIER COUNTY- The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has announced the reopening of their public gun range.

“Out of an abundance of caution, public gun range use was suspended in March of 2020 due to COVID-19,” the CCSO stated. “With the CDC easing its guidelines regarding outdoor activities, we will resume our twice monthly public gun range days on Saturday, June 6."

Starting on June 6 the range will be free and open to the public the first and third Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The range is located at 4441 70th Ave. N.E. in Golden Gate Estates.

The range is for pistol or handgun use only. No rifles or long guns are allowed.

Gun range visitors who are shooting must be at least 18 years of age. Shooters 18-20 must be accompanied by a person 21 years of age or older. Targets will be provided by the CCSO. Bring ammo, eye and ear protection.
