Soccer Pit Cobras season begins

Posted

Three games were played this past Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Immokalee Sports Complex. The U10 Boys Recreational team played the San Carlos Scorpions in a very exciting game. Although we lost 4-3, these boys, most of whom are playing on a team for the first time, showed a lot of effort on the field. As they gain more experience we will see different outcomes as the season progresses.

Our U10 Boys Competitive team beat the Lehigh Lightning by a score of 6-1. These boys started playing at the recreational level last year and now have advanced to the competitive level. This is an awesome team and they will get better as the season moves on. The U19 Boys played their game on Sunday, Sept. 27, and hosted the Driftwood Dragons from Hollywood.

The team played well and missed several opportunities through the game, but with about 12 minutes left in the match, our center back Markensley A. went deep into the Dragons defense and crossed the ball from the left side and connected with Yahir B., who headed the ball into the net for a beautiful goal and the game winner. The U19 Boys will play at home again this weekend at 4 p.m. against CTC La Liga at the Sports Complex.

Upcoming games:
Saturday, Oct. 3
10 a.m. U10 Boys Recreational vs. Florida West U10

11:15 a.m. Girls U14 Recreational vs. Fort Myers Beach
