West Palm Beach VA Medical Center hosting a walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for eligible veterans

WEST PALM BEACH — On Tuesday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 19 the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center will host a walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Veterans who already receive care at VA and fall within the following CDC/VHA categories:

• Eligible veterans aged 65 and older;

•  Eligible veterans younger than 65 with high risk conditions: High-risk medical conditions include cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, heart failure, coronary artery disease, pregnancy, sickle cell disease, type 2 diabetes and 100% disabled veterans..

• Eligible veterans employed as essential frontline workers (aged 18 and up): firefighters, police officers, corrections officers, food and agricultural workers, U.S. Postal Service workers, manufacturing workers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, and those who work in the education sector (teachers and support staff members) as well as daycare workers. Veterans must bring identification or documentation showing they are employed as an essential worker defined by the CDC.​

• Eligible high-risk veterans: Community living centers and other congregate living settings, homeless veterans, hemodialysis patients, solid organ transplant patients or patients who are listed for transplant, spinal cord injury, home-based primary care and chemotherapy patients (receiving chemotherapy in a clinic/hospital setting)

The clinic will run daily, Feb. 16 through Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. while supply allows. Veterans who have received any vaccine, such as the flu or shingles vaccines, will need to wait 14 days from the date of that vaccination before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
