WWCC hosts Community Outreach

NAPLES — Wounded Warriors of Collier County (WWCC) Veteran Community Service Project for the holidays announces its 2nd annual Christmas toy and food community outreach. This event for those in the River Park East Community will be held on Dec. 21, 2021, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Nothing brings out the spirit of the season as much as seeing the faces of kids receiving toys for the holidays. Last year, in the spirit of service and giving back, the Veterans of Alpha House and additional fellow Veterans gave back to their neighbors in the River Park East Naples Community in a big way! In a community “grab & go” outreach, we provided toys and food for 55 families and 125 children. We expect the event to double in size this year for a community that has been hard-hit by rent increases and the economic impact of Covid.

The heart and passion to care for those in need has driven several local organizations to collaborate on this much needed community outreach program. Special thanks to American Gold Star Mothers Inc., Blue Zones Project, Lipman Family Farms, Publix, Smilecreator of Naples, and The Salvation Army of Naples, who have generously provided toys and food for this Veteran Service Project.

About WWCC

The vision of Wounded Warriors of Collier County is to see that “No Veteran is Left Behind” in Collier County. What began as a vision to support local veterans through facilitating communication and assisting in partnering local veterans with needed resources, has grown into a thriving organization focused on ending Veteran homelessness and providing supportive services that enable on-going Veteran stabilized housing, which includes mental health and education supportive services. Wounded Warriors of Collier County is 100% volunteer led and the Board of Directors is made up of 75% Veterans who understand the unique needs of these heroes.
