INDIANTOWN -- For the past 28-years, Indiantown’s water department was a daily staple for Robert Guerrero, but the appeal of retirement won out over his commitment to serve the community. During the regular council meeting on Aug. 19, Indiantown Mayor Janet Hernandez and the Village Council recognized and honored Guerrero . He received a plaque in appreciation of his numerous years of dedicated service.

Village Manager Howard Brown, commended Guerrero for his commitment to Indiantown Village and Indiantown Company as an employee. Brown explained that at the adoption of the village government, the village absorbed Indiantown Company employees. He praised the employees for the “tremendous job of coming onboard” and helping the village government continue to provide services to residents.

While stressing the importance of Guerrero’s commitment to the community and the organization, Brown continued, “I felt it fitting for the council and myself to acknowledge Mr. Guerrero for his hard work and 28-years of service. When someone gets to the end of their career, it means something.”

Mayor Hernandez read the plaque, which read in part, “Robert Guerrero is recognized for significant contributions, tireless efforts, professionalism, insights and dedication to the Village of Indiantown.” Guerrero commented after accepting the plaque.

“The Indiantown Company I worked for was a great company. It had ups and downs, like everything, but we got through it,” he said. “I really do appreciate this, thank you very much.” He then wished the council good luck as they lead Indiantown into the future.
