The St. Lucie Lock (S-80) will be closed Jan. 4-March 31, 2022 according to information shared at the County Coalition for the Responsible Management of Lake Okeechobee, St. Lucie and the Caloosahatchee Estuaries and the Lake Worth Lagoon meeting on Dec. 3 in the Historic Okeechobee County Courthouse.
The U.S. Army corps of Engineers will dewater the area for the project.
Special consideration will be given to protecting manatees during this time.
