LABELLE — The Artist of the Month at the LaBelle Gallery and Cultural Center for February is Sharon Rapp. Sharon began painting in watercolor 40 years ago and became serious about it after retirement. She has taken watercolor classes from many local and national painters, including Terry Madden and became a certified Madden instructor. She is a member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, Toledo Artist Club, Findlay Ohio Art League, and Arts of the Inland in Florida. She has received numerous awards for her painting and has taught a number of watercolor classes and workshops in both Ohio and Florida.

Her next class is scheduled for Feb. 19 at the gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. where she will be teaching the effects of painting watercolors on Yupo, a synthetic, plastic paper which is very slick and non absorbent. For more information on the class, check the Arts of the Inland website: www.artsinland.com, or drop by the gallery.
