Beck Companies to host Thanksgiving feast to feed the hungry

Posted

LABELLE — Derek Beck, owner of the Beck Companies, is going to provide meals for the less fortunate in our community on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Beck is hosting the event at the LaBelle Civic Center, located at 481 W. Hickpochee Ave. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (or until the food runs out). The turkey dinners will be plated and served by Mr. Beck himself along with his family and volunteers from Mr.Beck’s staff.

“When I look around the community, it breaks my heart to think that there might be a kid that is going hungry any day of the week, but it is especially difficult to see on a holiday. The goal this year is to feed at least 300 people, so if there is someone that you know is in need or that might be having a hard time making ends meet, please let them know that we want them to join us! This community has been great to myself and my family, and if we can make a difference in someone’s life, even if it is only for one day, I think it’s our responsibility to make that difference. This year has been difficult for our nation in many ways, so maybe we can spread a little hope and bring people together,” said Beck.

The meals are absolutely free, and no one will be turned away. Mr. Beck also said that he anticipates making this an annual event. For more information on the event, Beck Companies can be reached at 239-789-5235.
