LABELLE — A relatively new artist, who’s been developing her business officially for just over a year now, has arrived back on scene despite the many challenges 2020 has created for all small, local businesses. Her medium? All things baked and delectable. From beautiful braided loaves of savory breads to delicious dessert pastries and even jams and jellies, this creative cottage-food chef is truly talented.
“A year ago I baked my first loaf of bread. Today, I’m happy to share with you the launch of my microbakery, The Caloosa Kitchen!” said Shannen Leahy, owner and phenomenal artisanal baker. “A hobby grew into a side business and eventually a successful market stand — thank you, LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation (LRDC). 2020 has been a bit of a roller coaster, but the business has prevailed with a bigger following locally.”
The menu is filled with delicious options, and Leahy can be found at the LRDC Saturday Market, online, and delivering locally throughout Hendry County.
For more information about Leahy’s tasty creations, such as Samosa Star Twist, filled with potatoes seasoned with garlic, chili, ginger, turmeric, coriander and dried mango, and more, contact Shannen Leahy at The Caloosa Kitchen by calling 863-885-4895, or go online to www.facebook.com/TheCaloosaKitchen/
