Commissioners recognize Health Department with Proclamation at BOCC meeting

LABELLE --  Florida Department of Health Hendry County staff members were publicly recognized at the Hendry County Board of County Commissioner’s (BOCC) Meeting on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. A proclamation was issued to recognize the dedication and hard work during the COVID-19 response.

"The Hendry County Health Department has served as a valuable asset to the health and wellness of Hendry County’s communities and as a tremendous partner of Hendry County government," the proclamation states.

"The Hendry County Health Department has served over the years to protect and inform Hendry County residents during the multitude of large and small natural disasters and health related events, along with offering programs and resources to improve the current and future health and well-being of Hendry County as a whole; and

"In 2020, and to this day, the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused disruptions to the world, United States, Florida and Hendry County. Hendry County Health Department provided continual guidance to residents and businesses while serving on the frontlines to those of highest risk; and

"The Hendry County Health Department employees have worked tirelessly for the past 16 months to meet the needs of Hendry County residents through rapidly changing circumstances.

"The Hendry County Board of County Commissioners, Hendry County, Florida, expresses its sincerest gratitude to the employees of the Hendry County Health Department for their work to serve Hendry County throughout the pandemic."
