HENDRY & GLADES COUNTIES — Florida Healthy Babies is a statewide initiative to reduce infant mortality and promote maternal and infant health by addressing social determinants of health.

One strategy that was focused on was increasing community education on prenatal/infant health and safety topics via development of an educational calendar. Additionally, the Community Health Healthiest Weight Florida Program focused on a strategy to collaborate with local Tobacco Free Florida (TFF) grantees to promote TFF’s Quit Your Way services to faith-based and/or community-based organizations via the promotional calendar.

Staff members from several programs at the FDOH of Hendry and Glades Counties, collaborated to create an informational calendar to promote Florida Healthy Babies!

This 2022 calendar was a collaborative project between Florida Healthy Babies, the Maternal/Infant/Child Home Visiting Unit, and the Community Health Promotions team, along with external partners:

• Count the Kicks – calendar infographic.

• Hendry/Glades – calendar infographic.
• Tobacco Free Florida – calendar infographics.
• DOH – Seminole – provided the idea and their calendar design, which inspired our local calendar.
• Hendry/Glades Healthy Families/Healthy Start Advisory Committee – review and feedback.
• United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee – 211 info/logo included in calendar.
• Healthy Start Coalition of SWFL – contact info included in calendar.
• Safe Kids SWFL – info and feedback.

Once printed, calendars will be distributed to local healthcare providers and partner agencies, including Healthier Hendry/Glades Task Force members.
Students from FSW will also assist with distribution at the Hendry/Glades Campus.

Calendars will be available for free at local agencies in Hendry and Glades Counties!
