HCSO aides US Marshal’s Office in gaining custody of suspect with outstanding narcotic warrants

Posted

CLEWISTON -- Early on the morning of Thursday, March 25,  a large police presence was seen by locals in the Orchard Park area of Clewiston.

"We saw all the law enforcement officers everywhere, swarming the block, and we knew something big was happening," said Kenneth Williams, who lives nearby. "Then we saw them walk someone out in cuffs."

"They looked like they were serving a serious warrant, it was cops everywhere!" said Tony Santiago, who happened to be visiting friends in the area. "There's not usually that many cops all at once here."

The Hendry County Sheriff’s office issued this statement, “Hendry County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with members of the Special Response Team, assisted the US Marshal’s Office in taking into custody a suspect currently wanted on outstanding narcotic warrants. There was at no time thought to be any danger to the residents of the community. US Marshals were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.”

No further information was released.
