HCSO Sgt. Christopher Norwood promoted to lieutenant

LABELLE -- On March 15 Sgt. Christopher (Chris) Norwood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant overseeing the daily operations of Hendry County East District.

Lt. Norwood began his career in public safety as a high school student. Having completed his EMT certification while a student, he was employed with Hendry County EMS as a Paramedic. While employed with EMS he received an AS Degree in EMS Technology and is currently an EMS Instructor.
 
Lt. Norwood graduated from the Southwest Florida Public Safety Academy in 2013 and was employed with the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office in 2014 and assigned to Road Patrol. In 2016, Norwood became a Field Training Officer (FTO) and later promoted to the rank of Sgt in 2017.
 
Lt. Norwood has developed a very diversified background while employed with the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office in road patrol, traffic and administration.
 
Aside from commanding East District, he also oversees the K9 unit, Reserve Deputies and the Emergency Field Force Team (EFF).
