HCSO warns of door-to-door scams

Posted
LABELLE -- Hendry County Sheriff’s Office has received reports from both Port LaBelle Utilities and the City of LaBelle that individuals are approaching homes knocking on doors and identifying themselves as employees with the state, city of LaBelle and/or Port LaBelle Utilities.

They tell the homeowner the purpose of their visit is to test their water quality asking to come into their home to do so.

These individuals DO NOT represent the City of LaBelle nor do they represent the Port LaBelle Utilities System.

Neither the Port LaBelle Utilities nor the City of LaBelle will ask to come into your home.

Should you have any questions or any concerns you may contact Port LaBelle Utilities System at 863-675-5376 or the City of LaBelle, at 675-2872 and ask for either Gary Hull or their utility department.
