LABELLE — Welcome to the 2021 - 2022 season of the Hendry-Glades Audubon program series! The fourth program of the season “Florida Ants: Behavior and Ecology of Native Species and Pests” presented by Elise Schuchman will coming to you in person or via Zoom at the Dallas Townsend Agricultural Extension Office located at 1085 Pratt Blvd. in LaBelle on Monday Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.

Elise Schuchman has over six years of technical and outreach experience working in the entomological field. Her experiences in an ant lab started during her undergraduate years at FSU where she performed individual research under the direction of myrmecologist Dr. Walter Tschinkel. After earning her B.S. in Biology in 2014, she began working for FDACS-DPI host-testing and rearing biological agents where she was a spokesperson and educational program creator for the Air Potato Biological Control Program.

Most recently, Elise has taken a position as the Assistant Commercial Vegetable and Horticulture Extension Agent at the Hendry County Extension Office. She is excited for the opportunity to return to content creation and scientific education. Elise is passionate about Florida nature and believes that education is critical to preserving habitat for wildlife.

You will not want to miss this presentation. Masks and social distancing are suggested at in person events hosted by Hendry-Glades Audubon. If you are unable to attend in person, you can still join us via ZOOM.
