Hendry racing heats up once again

Posted

Some fun and exciting racing was happening on the “Southernmost Dirt Track in the USA” again this weekend. With dirt flying, wheels spinning, and fans cheering, the pandemic has nothing on this action packed race park.

“What a great night to get out and soak up some gas fumes and good ole Hendry county dirt!” said one fan. “Good job, Ken Kinney and all your support staff for putting on a great night of dirt track racing!”

“Granger Perra, Craig Montesi Jr., Donald Sniff, Larry Hubbard, Jr., and Tracey Butler,  are your top 5 in the Florida late models, at Hendry County Motorsports Park,” announced the park’s owner Ken Kinney after the big race held on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

The Hendry County Motorsports Park’s

Street Stock Finish results for June 20, 2020, were as follows:

  1) 26 Brian Morgan

  2) 69 Scotty Kay Jr

  3) 7C Codey Benoit

  4) 39 Trent Wilson

  5) 11 Ron Dubeau

  6) 40 Danny Esposito Sr

  7) 77 Jacob Bell

  8) 3H David Hildebrant

  9) 7X John Kohutich

10) 5M Calvin Harlow

11) 29S Mark Shidler

12) 1H Tommy Hill

13) 25 Danny Esposito Jr

14) 44P Cameron Powers

15) 44 Tim Powers

“Although I stated otherwise, due to huge input, we will have an open practice for all classes from 7:30 til 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at Hendry County Motorsports Park,” explained Kinney. “We are encouraging cookouts, camping, horseshoes, cornhole and will have a water slide for the kids. This is a non-points weekend, and if your class is not racing and you want to practice, camp, or whatever come on. The classes racing on the 4th will be the incredible top gun sprint cars, a Florida late model prelude to the south Florida state championship, gladiators, streetstocks, v8 warriors/ thunderstocks, mini stocks/ outlaw 4s and 4.6 fords.”

Kinney posted on Facebook about the event, saying,”Pits $20 and children $6 Grandstands $10 and kids $5. 6 and under free. All will be allowed in the pits after 10:30. Insurance is my issue with practice.”
