The two local young men who were killed in action, Christopher Strickland and Robert Hammett, were honored Saturday, July 20 at the LaBelle Veterans Park. KC Lynn opened the ceremony by ringing the 1934 bell she and her family donated to the park in honor of her husband, Richard Lynn who served in the US Army and US Air Force. From Left: KC Lynn ringing the bell; Bill Davis, American Legion Commander; Lisa Velasquez, 2nd Vice of the American Legion who sang the National Anthem; John Caudill, Chaplain of both the VFW and American Legion; Nikki Yeager, American Legion Auxiliary and Marvin Ruble at the podium, Commander of the VFW and 1st Vice at the American Legion. Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony. It was a beautiful day to celebrate those who have given their life for our Freedom.
