The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

• Anthony Norman was sentenced to two years and six months in state prison after pleading no contest to battery by detainee. Norman, who was 18 when he was charged in March 2020 was arrested when he and another inmate attacked a third. The attack continued even after the victim was on the ground and despite a corrections officer’s attempt to stop it. The victim was transported to Raulerson Hospital for treatment.

• Charges against Gino Ramos were dropped recently. Ramos was charged with intimidating or threatening a witness or victim and with violating a no contact order. His arrest occurred in January 2021 after he reportedly sent threatening letters to a woman from the county jail.
• Clinton Sellers was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tag with no registration. Sellers was arrested September 2019 during a traffic stop.
• Angela Shaw was sentenced to one day in county jail after pleading no contest to a charge of felony petit theft. Shaw was arrested in September 2019. Her charge involved her use of a fraudulent credit card in order to purchase thousands of dollars worth of liquor purportedly for a wedding. According to a probable cause report written by Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Detective Dale LaFlam, Shaw has been arrested multiple times for credit card fraud and grand theft and was arrested in Tampa for a similar incident involving the purchase of liquor. Shaw paid restitution to the victim before her sentencing.
• Justin Moore was sentenced to four months and seven days in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and resisting arrest without violence. Moore was arrested in October 2020 after a traffic stop for an expired tag. During the arrest, Moore ran from deputies and was tased.
• Jesse Zipperer was sentenced to seven months and 15 days in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of Alprazolam, possession of synthetic cannabinoid and driving without a license. Zipperer was arrested in October of 2019 after a deputy spotted him driving and knew he had no license. During the traffic stop, the drugs were found.
• Kurtis Enfinger was sentenced to six months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Enfinger was arrested in January 2021 when a member of the narcotics task force stopped him for running a stop sign.
