It’s all about faith

Scripture is full of stories about faith. Job is the classic story; trusting in God even when his entire world fell apart. He spoke the classic line: “I know that my Redeemer lives…” and his faith was rewarded. Likewise, Peter’s faith encouraged him to jump out of his boat and walk on water toward Jesus, and even though he began to doubt, Jesus reached out His hand and saved him.

Thinking about faith stories, I found myself thinking a lot about my faith, what I believe, and what I lack when it comes to faith. Faith is easy when life is smooth. But where is our faith when we feel like no one, and nothing is on our side?

Sometimes we confuse faith with feelings. We wish we had actually seen the Bethlehem star or the parting of the Red Sea or the empty tomb on that first Easter. But in actuality, we have seen things just as glorious: the birth of a child, a glorious sunrise, a breath-taking sunset, medical miracles…all witnesses to the gift of faith in the blessings God has given us.

Faith is a precious gift from God. It can overcome any doubt the enemy sends your way. The enemy wants to make you think that God has lost touch with you. But don’t believe it! God will never let you down. You just have to remember to call on Him. He has the map. It’s your job to follow it!
