K9s United encourages community support through K9 Corps

Posted

JACKSONVILLE — K9s United, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting law enforcement K-9 units with vital equipment and training to protect and serve our communities, invited dog lovers to join the organization’s K9 Corps to provide monthly contributions to the cause this Giving Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Due to budgetary constraints, many law enforcement agencies don’t have the funding to provide K-9 units with the resources they need most. The organization, based in Jacksonville, is encouraging dog-lovers and supporters to sign up for their K9 Corps to give a dedicated monthly contribution to fuel K9s United’s mission to aid K-9 officers that serve on the front lines.

K9 Corps membership levels give supporters the opportunity to determine the impact of their monthly donations, from smaller giving opportunities like emergency first aid kits and aid to help further legislation to protect K-9s to larger contributions to provide advanced training, medical needs and larger safety equipment, such as vehicle heat alarms and tactical vests.

“Some of our best officers don’t wear pants, and we are encouraging supporters to join the K9 Corps this Giving Tuesday to make a difference in the lives of hard-working K-9s so they can be on top of their game, be safe and healthy,” said K9s United’s President and Founder Debbie Johnson. “K-9s are some of the most deserving dogs on the planet and joining our K9 Corps will fuel the vital training, lifesaving equipment and crucial legislation needed to protect these voiceless defenders of our communities.”

For those who wish to support K9s United, the K9 Corps donation platform has a series of contribution packages to choose from to directly impact the lives of fearless canine crime fighters.

• K9 Dingo Package: For a small monthly donation of $9, donors in this class provide K-9s with first aid emergency kits to assure their safety on the front lines.

• K9 Fang Package: For a monthly donation of $29, donors aid in passing legislation to protect working law enforcement K-9s across the country.

• K9 Jethro Package: For a monthly donation of $49, donors provide K-9s with the training equipment they need to stay sharp while on active duty and help with unexpected medical needs.

• K9 Baron Package: For a larger monthly donation of $99, donors provide K-9s with safety equipment, such as heat alarms or tactical vests to assure the best protection.

All new K9 Corps members receive a free, special edition t-shirt. For those who cannot contribute monthly, one-time gifts are also accepted and appreciated. To join K9 Corps, visit www.k9sunited.org/donate.
