LaBelle man dies in single-vehicle crash

LABELLE – A 20-year-old LaBelle man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at 7:35 p.m. on April 8, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the report, a sedan was traveling north on Fort Denaud Road, north of River Blossom Lane. The vehicle traveled off the roadway, overturned on the grass shoulder and collided with a tree.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other occupants of the sedan, 34-year-old LaBelle man, and a 24-year-old LaBelle man, were injured in the crash. They were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

According to the FHP report, the crash remains under investigation to determine which occupant was driving at the time of the crash.
