LHS Public Service Academies hold official flag raising ceremony

Posted

LABELLE- The LaBelle High School Public Service Academies (LHS PSA) honored their school and country on the morning of Monday, August 16, 2021 with an official flag changing ceremony.

Participating in a Public Service Academy enables students to become more familiar with different career opportunities in the field of criminal justice and firefighting.

Through various LHS PSA activities, students get real-life, hands on experiences, and become more confident individuals as they explore careers in public service and safety. They also have the opportunities to develop and experience their own talents in their chosen field, as they progress through the program.

LHS PSA students experience personal growth, enhancement of social skills, and a boost to their self esteem - all attributes they can use throughout their lives.

Flag ceremonies are one of the common services that the students learn about and provide for their community. As students gathered around the flagpole in front of LaBelle High School on Monday, August 16, 2021, they held a flag raising ceremony to signify the start of the 2021-22 school year.
