LABELLE - MOPS of LaBelle is excited to announce new guidelines and entry criteria for Scarecrows on the Wharf 2020.
There will be three community judges. Unlike other years when all judges examined every aspect of the scarecrow, this year each set of judges will be given criteria to judge.
The four new categories are youth groups/non-profits with members 17 years old and younger, adult groups/non-profits with members ages 18 and over, families, and businesses. First, second, and third place awards will be given in each category. In addition, all scarecrows assembled and installed by October 18 will be entered into the People’s Choice Awards.
You will be asked when you complete your entry if you are a youth nonprofit, adult non-profit, family or business. These categories will then be judged against each other. This will ensure that young families or youth groups in LaBelle are not in direct competition with adult groups e.g. MOPS of LaBelle or businesses e.g. Riverside Real Estate.
These guidelines are designed to ensure fairness, equity, and consistency in terms of the judging process. They are currently available on our Facebook page.
Voting for the People’s Choice Awards takes place from noon on Monday, October 19 - noon on Saturday, October 24. Judging by judges takes place on Saturday, October 24. Winners will be announced the same day.
If you have any questions in relation to the new guidelines or entry criteria, please contact Megan at 239-206-9881 or mopsoflabelle@gmail.com.
