Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Clewiston

CLEWISTON -- A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 on Virginia Avenue near 11th Street according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP Trooper G. Zimmerly's crash report, the pedestrian  was walking east on Virginia Avenue, east of 11th Street. An unknown vehicle was traveling east on
Virginia Avenue, east of 11th Street. The vehicle collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian  was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

The vehicle fled the scene.

The vehicle is possibly a gray, silver or gold pick up truck
or sport utility vehicle.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
