Florida’s primary election is tomorrow, Aug. 23. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. If you are in line at 7 p.m., you will be allowed to vote. If you arrive after 7 p.m., you will not be allowed to vote.

In the Florida Senate races, there will not be a Republican primary. The incumbent, Marco Rubio, will be the Republican candidate in the general election. Democrats in the Senate primary are Val Demings, Ricardo De La Fuente, Brian Rush and William Sanchez.

In the governor's race, incumbent Ron DeSantis will be the Republican candidate in the general election. Democrats in primary are Charlie Crist, Nikki Fried, Candance Daniel and Robert Willis.

In the U.S. House of Representatives District 20,  Democratic primary candidates are Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Dale Holness and Anika Tene Omphroy.

In U.S. House of Representatives District 25 Democratic Primary incumbent Debbie Wasserman Shultz is challenged by Robert Millwee. Republican primary candidates are Carla Spadling and Rubin Young.

In the Commissioner of Agriculture race, candidates in the Republican primary are James Shaw and Wilton Simpson. Candidates in the Democratic primary are Naomi Esther Blemur, J.R. Gallot and Ryan Morales.

In the Attorney General Race, candidates in the Democratic primary are Aramis Ayala,  Jim Lewis and Daniel Uhlfelder.

Okeechobee County: Most county races in Okeechobee County are unopposed. In the Okeechobee County School Board District 1 race, the candidates are Christine Bishop and Leslie Mayor. :   For more information, go online to www.voteokeechobee.gov or call 863-763-4014.  

Hendry County: Hendry County Commission candidates in the Universal Primary for District 2 are Emory Howard and Matt Rentz. School Board District 3 candidates are Bianca-Burke Ross and Amanda Nelson. School Board District 4 candidates are Stephanie Busin, Richard West and Joe Whitehead. School Board District 2 candidates are Jon Basquin and Rick Murphy. Glades County: In the School Board District 4 race, the candidates are Lisa Beaner and Kimberly Clement. School board races are nonpartisan. In the Republican primary for County Commission District 2, Jeff Barnes challenges incumbent Donna Storter-Long.
