Salvation Army seeks bell ringers and kettle adopters

Posted

LABELLE — Hearing the Salvation Army Kettle Bell Ring is like a sound of the season. Everyone remembers hearing it when they are out shopping for Christmas and holiday presents.

This year the Salvation Army is looking for “Ringers” as well as “Kettle Adopters.” If you would like to ring the kettle bell in the traditional way, sign up and pitch in! If you are a music leader at a church or a pastor, you can gather a few of your friends and ring the bell and sing Christmas carols. There are stations at Wal-Mart and at other locations. The communty would love your help. Everyone needs a reason to smile just a bit more this holiday season!

LaBelle area churches, companies, and community groups are welcome to “Adopt a Kettle.” The Salvation Army Kettle will be provided: either the traditional large one that sits on the floor or the table-top version that is perfect for a countertop. The kettle will sit in an indoor location you choose and you will keep it safe. You will be “adopting” it for the Christmas season.

The cost of food alone is up 30% this year so more kettles than ever are needed out there. Your help is needed. The Salvation Army will also be purchasing clothing and toys, and will work with those that are “most in need.” Everyone is screened for need so these are people that really need help most.

You can sign yourself or your group up for two to four hour ringing sessions and you can pick the location, at www.registertoring.com If your church, organization, or company would like to “Adopt a Kettle,” it would truly be appreciated. Please call at 863-674-1441 and if no one answers, leave a message for Diane. Kindly leave your name, phone number, and email.
