Tampa man dies in single-vehicle crash on US 27

CLEWISTON – A Tampa man died in an early morning accident on Easter Sunday when his vehicle left US 27 and overturned in a water-filled canal.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, at 5 a.m. on April 9, a sedan driven by a 55-year-old Tampa man was traveling east on US 27, on the outside lane, approaching Sky Valley Lane, when the vehicle traveled off the roadway, entered a water-filled canal and overturned. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The exact time of crash remains under investigation.T
