Thanksgiving donation

Posted

You may remember seeing a social media post about this young man last year around this time from the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. “Well, the only thing that’s changed is he’s grown a few inches taller, but his heart for others has remained the same,” they posted this week. On Tuesday, Nov. 17, Dallen Steelman and his mom, Pam, dropped off several specially wrapped Thanksgiving care packages at the Hendry County Sheriff’s office. They will be donated to the needy in Hendry County. He uses his own money and personally puts the packages together with his mom’s help. Dallen is a quiet young man with a big smile, but the first thing he said to Sheriff Whidden was, “Hey, you’re short!” He was quite proud to have grown taller than him over this last year. “Dallen, we hope you keep growing and staying healthy! We are happy to have a young man like you in our community. On behalf of Sheriff Steve Whidden and members of the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, we thank you for your contribution to the community,” the HCSO stated on their Facebook page.
