LABELLE -- Young drag racing phenom Victoria Beaner hopes to continue her winning ways on the track when she competes in the prestigious Christmas on the Coast Junior Drag Racing event Dec. 16-18 in Gulfport, Miss.

Beaner, 11, from LaBelle,  is one of 64 of the best racers from across the country hand-picked to compete for the $10,000 winner-take-all first-place prize. Victoria heads to Gulfport Dragway with an impressive on-track resume after moving up to the tougher Junior Dragster class this season. She has competed in 40 races, winning six with 4 runner-up finishes, while reaching four other semifinals and amassing 10 final round appearances. This busy racer also has accumulated 78 round wins this season, adding to an already impressive resume of 48 final round appearances in her career.

The Gulfport event features three age-group classes of racing. Victoria competes in the 10-12 class, with other divisions being ages 7-9 and 12-17. Victoria’s dragster will hit speeds over 75 mph as she flashes down the eighth of a mile track. Her father, Darin, who owns Fusion Metalworks in Fort Myers, serves as her primary mechanic.

“I am excited to compete against some of the top drivers in the country during the holidays,” said Victoria, who started racing at age 6. “I love getting in my dragster and racing, and this event will be another chance for me to compete, learn and hopefully be successful.”

Victoria success this season only builds on her remarkable results from a year ago. She was named Junior Drag Racer of the Year in the 6-9 age group category, after posting 16 wins in 21 finals and collecting two track series championships. Her results were accomplished in nine states and on 12 tracks. In her four years of competitive racing, Victoria has over 40 wins, beating the boys most of the time as few girls are racing in any form of motorsports.

And don’t think racing is the only place she excels. She is a top student while learning virtually with Liberty University Online Academy. She is the receptionist for her family’s business. She does most of her social media racing posts and also is editing her own video.

“We are very proud of her and how she has developed as a racer and the young lady she has become,” Darin Beaner said. “We look forward to the exciting racing in Gulfport.”

drag racer, LaBelle
