BELLE GLADE — The First Haitian Baptist Church of Belle Glade is inviting friends, families and alumni of its Children and Youth Development Center to a family reunion. The event will take place Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Church and the Development Center are located at 200 S.W. Ave. B in Belle Glade.
Pastor Morales St. Hilaire and his family are asking the Belle Glade community to help them celebrate with great food and music and to learn more about their plans for the future. The church is building a new Development Center on the existing site and is looking for additional community support. Local commissioners and council members will be attending the event.
“We would like to reunite with our former students of the program and encourage them to stay connected with us and see the progress we are making,” Pastor Morales said.
During the event, the older children who help teach at the center will be conducting tours of the 1940s building that houses the existing center, which desperately needs to be rebuilt.
Members of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller, Palm Beach Commandery, who are helping to support the church in this endeavor, is inviting those in the eastern communities of Palm Beach County to join the festivities and learn more about this Belle Glade community. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with the alumni and current students. Carpools are being formed. Please email Judi Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
