INDIANTOWN — Indian River State College (IRSC) has appointed Anthony Boyer as executive director/principal of Indiantown High School, a new IRSC workforce and career education charter school serving Martin County students in grades nine through 12. Boyer, who will begin his role with IRSC on July 5, comes from Northwest Florida State College, where he presently serves as principal of the Collegiate High School (since 2011) and dean of College Pathway (since 2019). As executive director of Indiantown High School, Boyer will provide leadership for long-range planning, organization and operation of Indiantown’s first and only high school.

“Anthony is uniquely qualified to lead the IRSC team at Indiantown High School,” said Dr. Timothy Moore, IRSC president. “His extensive experience in charter high school management and leadership, combined with his track record working with faculty, staff and workforce partners to enhance educational experiences, is essential as we establish and grow this centerpiece for educational opportunity in Indiantown.”

Boyer’s wide range of experience includes positions in government, not-for-profit and education sectors. He joined Northwest Florida State College in 2002, initially serving in its Public Safety/Criminal Justice area, and in 2005, assumed the role of assistant principal with its Collegiate High School. Boyer became principal of the school in 2011. In 2019, he added the responsibility of dean of College Pathway to grow opportunities for diversity in academic affairs for students, staff and community partners and initiate and participate in internal and external collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with academic, technical, workforce and economic development stakeholders.

“I am delighted to join the IRSC team and look forward to serving the citizens of Martin County,” shared Anthony Boyer, incoming executive director/principal  of Indiantown High School. “It is my firm belief that we create a better future one student at a time, and that is exactly what we will do here at Indiantown High School.”

Boyer has pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (ABD) with Northcentral University. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Resource Management from Troy State University. He earned a Public Manager certification from Florida State University and an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership designation from the University of West Florida. Boyer is active in numerous civic and professional organizations and is a frequent speaker at collegiate, rotary and church engagements.

Boyer will relocate to the Treasure Coast region with his wife and two children.
