WEST PALM BEACH  -- The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office  has announced the arrest of criminal defense attorney David Casals.

Casals, who practices in Palm Beach and Broward Counties, was charged with attempting to smuggle documents that had been saturated with cocaine into the Palm Beach County Jail.

The cocaine-soaked papers were disguised as legal documents.

After an extensive investigation, testing, interviews and search warrants, detectives were able to procure an arrest warrant for Casals on the charges of  trafficking cocaine, delivery of cocaine and introduction of contraband into a county facility.

Casals turned himself in to the Palm Beach County Jail. His bond was set at $58,000.
