Collier County Recycling Centers offers shredding
Special to the Immokalee Bulletin
Beginning Saturday, November 3, Collier County’s Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division will offer free paper shredding on the first Saturday of each month to Collier County residents at three of its recycling centers. The shredding service is free for the first 20 pounds; additional shredding will be charged at $1.00 per pound.
Shredding trucks will be on site, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center, 9950 Goodlette-Frank Road North, Naples, Florida 34109, and at the Naples Recycling Drop-off Center, 2640 Corporate Flight Drive, Naples, Florida 34104. Secure, locked bins will be at the Marco Island Recycling Drop-off Center, 990 Chalmer Drive, Marco Island, Florida 34145, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and noon to 2:00 p.m.
Collier County currently has a 68 percent recycling rate, well above the state’s average of 52 percent (2017). To help the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Division reach Florida’s 75 percent recycling rate goal, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to purge their old and/or confidential documents. Secure shredding services are provided by Shred It® Document Destruction Services.
