Three people died in a Labor Day crash on SR 82. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:33 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, September 7 on SR 82 one mile east of CR 850. The crash claimed the lives of two men and a five-year-old girl and left two women and a 10-year-old boy in critical condition. FHP reports that Carlos Robles, 28, of Fort Myers was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Impala westbound on SR 82 approaching CR 850. At the same time, 28-year-old Alex Garcia of Immokalee was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima eastbound Mr. Robles entered the eastbound lane, and the vehicles crashed, left front-to-left front. Both vehicles rotated counter clockwise before coming to a rest. Mr. Garcia died in the crash along with five-year old Alexis Garcia. Jenny Anzualda Garza, 28, was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition, and Jeremiah Garcia, 10, was transported to Tampa General, also in critical condition. All were from Immokalee. Mr. Robles’ passenger, Lisett Robles, 34, of Fort Myers suffered critical injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital All involved had been wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
