Domestic Animal Services offers free adoptions for Veterans and active Military

Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is honoring those who have and are serving in the military the week of Veterans Day, through Saturday, November 10 active, retired and honorably discharged veterans can adopt pets at no cost.
“Veterans Day is a time to show our respect and honor those who have sacrificed so much to defend our country,” said DAS Director Darcy Andrade. “We would like to show our appreciation by offering free adoptions to those who have made this sacrifice,” Andrade added.
Adoption hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at DAS’ main Naples shelter, 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida 34104. The Immokalee shelter is open for adoptions from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, at 405 Sgt. Joe Jones Road, Immokalee, Florida 34142.
Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test for dogs, FELV/FIV test for cats, and 30 days of free pet insurance. That’s a value of more than $400.
