George “Andy” Godwin

George, 63, born in Tampa, Florida was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee since 1967.
He enjoyed cars, his 3 dogs (Annie, Marley and Finley) and most importantly his family.
His love for all things car related began at an early age. Alongside his mentor and best friend Willard Mays, he learned and loved the business even more. Eventually, fulfilling his dream of opening his own dealership. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend. He loved to cook and entertain others. He enjoyed caring for animals.
Andy is preceded in death by his father; Charles Donahue Godwin; sister; Sabra Pressman; grandparents, George and Irene Ivy, Willard Mays & Stanley Harden, both friends that felt like family.
Mr. Godwin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lynn Godwin; children: Andrew Godwin (Sarah) of Palm City, FL, Whitney Vidal (Scott) of Sebring, FL, Adam Godwin (Lexi) of Stuart, FL; grandchildren: Hunter, Austin, Kayleigh, Ashten and Scott (SJ); his mother, Barbara Mattox of Tampa, FL; siblings: Donny Godwin, Chuck Godwin, Donna Miranda, Angel Godwin, David Godwin, Brian Godwin and Ryan Godwin.
Services were held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 3833 SE 18th Terrace Okeechobee, FL, 34974 on Sunday, December 18, 2022, viewing was from 4-7:00 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2022 viewing 11-12:30 pm with services that started at 12:30 P.M. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee, FL.
