BONITA SPRINGS — Neal Communities, southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, recently presented a $3,000 gift to the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County, a nonprofit that enables all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

As part of the initiatives for the south region, which encompasses Lee and Collier Counties, the builder chose to sponsor the nonprofit’s Youth of the Year Celebration and help fund the organization’s programs.

“This gala serves as an opportunity to showcase our teenage nominees and the youth program, celebrate their achievements and a raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County,” said Jane Badger, development director for the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County. “Our ability to provide financial assistance to youth and families who need us most is of the utmost importance, and we are humbled by the generosity of our donors, volunteers and sponsors like Neal Communities who make what we do possible.”

More than 250 guests attended the Feb. 26 event to acknowledge the nonprofit’s youth members, who exemplified the virtues of good character, service and leadership throughout the year. Islande Victorin from Immokalee was named the 2019 Youth of the Year winner during the festivities, which featured a cocktail reception, five-star dinner and program. The Youth of the Year event surpassed its goal, raising nearly $500,000 in support of scholarships and programming needs.

During a visit this month, team members with Neal Communities spent time with Boys and Girls Club of Collier County staff and Jasmine Cledanor, the 2018 winner of the Youth of the Year award.

We hope this donation further bolsters the mission to improve the lives of young people in our community.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Collier County serves more than 3,000 children and teens – ages 6 to 18 – in its clubs and afterschool programs and through a partnership with the Naples Children and Education Foundation and Florida’s 21st Century.

The nonprofit offers a safe place for young with caring, adult professionals who support the educational, emotional, physical and social development of the youth and provide them with the resources needed to become successful adults. The Club offers award-winning programs to help youth build self esteem and values.
