One dead following crash in Immokalee

On Saturday, March 3, shortly after 10:30 a.m. a crash occurred at the intersection of State Road 29 and Oil Well Road which left Oil Well Road closed for several hours. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2018 Hyundai Elanta driven by Georgette Simone Laidlaw, 29, of Key Largo was traveling northbound on State Road 29, approaching the intersection of Oil Well Road. A 2017 Honda motorcycle driven by Marquis Bolduc, 67, of Quebec, Canada was traveling southbound on State Road 29. Laidlaw attempted to turn left in front of Bolduc colliding with the front of his motorcycle. Bolduc was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest on the southwest corner of State Road 29. Laidlaw was transported from the scene to NCH North and Bolduc was pronounced deceased on scene. According to the report, Laidlaw was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
