On Monday, January 29, 2018, deputies responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at the intersection of Main Street West and South 2nd Street. Upon arrival they found a male victim laying in the eastbound lanes of Main Street West and silver sport utility vehicle with front-end damage stopped in the roadway. The male was pronounced dead by Collier County EMS. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded and are continuing the investigation. At this time, it appears the victim attempted to cross Main Street West while not in a crosswalk. At this time, the victim’s name has not yet been released.
